*Your contribution supports far more than the cost of one journal; it is about providing for research on, and collecting oral histories for, Korean Americans.
There are a few journals that publish research on Asian Americans, and they'll occasionally have an article or two on Korean Americans; there are also organizations much larger than that publish and have events on Korean culture, politics and society; there are publications on Korean American current affairs.
But where's the memory in all of this? Where else can you read quality stories about where Koreans have come from, and what past generations have experienced? It is said that a people without a past has no future. To borrow from author Helen Zia, don't be "Missing In History!"
Korean American Historical Society is supported only through the generosity of our members.
When you join KAHS through your membership contribution, you are not just subscribing to a journal. You are helping to preserve, and ensure, a lasting legacy for future generations to come.

Volunteering
You can also help as a volunteer. We need people with talent and skills to interview and record our community elders, and transcribe or translate those interviews for posterity. Other volunteers review books and referee manuscripts for our journal, assist with membership development or advise community organizations.
Once you have signed up as a volunteer, you will be contacted on an "as needed" basis. Unless you prefer otherwise, you will be listed as a volunteer and receive a complimentary copy of Occasional Papers for the issue in which your work appears.
